Food is Life!
And as Bethany Frankel says - 'Your diet is a bank account. Good food choices are good investments'.
This reasoning comes from understanding that nutrients in foods, such as amino acids and proteins, fats and carbohydrates along with vitamins, minerals and other nutrients FUEL our bodies!
There is a whole complex science around nutrients in food and more and more we are understanding what nutrients actually have an effect on specific actions and reactions in the body.
For example, the very process that drives the 'powerhouse' (mitochondria) in each of your cells requires lipoic acid, amino acids and some B vitamins and magnesium... if your powerhouse doesn't get the correct fuel your cells can't make the basic energy molecules required to fuel each of your cells.
This is just one of the thousands of examples of what nutrients do in your body.
We can please our taste buds AND nourish our bodies.
